Relive the discovery of America

San Salvador Island is one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas and it's also important in history for the discovery of America. Christopher Columbus landed in San Salvador in 1492. The original name that indigenous people gave to the island was Guanahanì. The island is also known as "Columbus Island" in honor of the italian explorer Cristoforo Colombo.
